Lauren Yarmuth

IDEO
Director, Circular Economy
Lauren is a systems-thinker with a bent for bringing people together. She believes in designs' power to create beneficial outcomes to some of the world's most complex challenges. From food to the built environment, Lauren uses design to improve places, products, services, and processes. She loves to make unexpected connections, inspire new thinking, and help people and organizations be outrageously successful by being remarkably good.

Trained as an architect but seasoned as an entrepreneur, Lauren's work is grounded in the principles of regenerative design. She approaches projects with a combined lens of systems, strategy, and innovation, driving towards new solutions to the complex challenges facing business and society at large.

Prior to IDEO, Lauren co-founded a prominent global sustainability consultancy which she ran for nearly a decade. She also served as long-standing faculty at Columbia University where she taught a masters-level course on sustainable technologies. Lauren holds a degree in architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design.
